AI in Modern Healthcare: From Insight to Impact

The Alice Mayo Society cordially invites you to the Medical Update Luncheon 2025, an engaging and thought-provoking morning exploring the transformative potential of artificial intelligence in modern medicine.

Our featured guest, Mr. Paul Cerrato—senior research analyst with Mayo Clinic Platform and co-author of Transform: Mayo Clinic Platform and the Digital Future of Health—will open the session with a broad overview of AI’s current and future role in healthcare delivery.

He will be joined by Dr. David T. Jones, Director of Artificial Intelligence in the Department of Neurology at Mayo Clinic, who will present on the use of AI to advance early dementia diagnosis. Together, they will offer insights into how technology is reshaping clinical practice and improving patient outcomes.

The presentation will conclude with a joint Q&A session, offering attendees the opportunity to engage directly with both speakers.

Paul Cerrato is a senior research analyst with Mayo Clinic Platform and a professor at Northeastern University, where he teaches data mining and machine learning. He has authored seven books on digital health, including Transform, co-written with Dr. John Halamka. A longtime medical journalist and former editor of InformationWeek Healthcare, Mr. Cerrato has lectured at Harvard and Columbia and was recently inducted into Sigma Xi, the Scientific Research Honor Society.

Dr. David T. Jones is a Behavioral Neurology Consultant and Director of Artificial Intelligence in the Department of Neurology at Mayo Clinic in Rochester. He joined Mayo in 2008 as a resident and now serves as an assistant professor of neurology and radiology. His work focuses on cognitive and behavioral neurology, advanced neuroimaging, and AI-driven approaches to dementia. He has authored over 200 publications and helped define clinical criteria for dysexecutive Alzheimer’s disease.
