The Alice Mayo Society organizes and sponsors a variety of activities for its members. These include special interest groups in gourmet cooking, a book club, a playgroup, and a group that meets for lunch regularly.
Lunch Bunch
Lunch Bunch is back and meeting monthly at local restaurants. All members welcome! The date and location of upcoming Lunch Bunch gatherings are announced on the AMS Members Facebook page and via email to those on the Lunch Bunch email list. The AMS Playgroup is open to all members with children ages 5 and under who are interested in meeting other families for play dates and occasional child-friendly outings at local spots. The playgroup usually meets at least once a month for one to two hours. Book Club
We are excited that our drop-in book club has been so well received. All members are welcome and can attend as your schedule allows. The Book Club has been meeting via Zoom for the past several months, but is planning an in-person discussion in July. Book selection and meeting information is shared on the AMS Members Facebook page and in our quarterly newsletter. If you would like to be on the Book Club email list, please contact Sharon Joyce.

The Vinyasa Yoga Practice free online clas
If you missed our free online yoga class for AMS members on November 19, you can still follow along with instructor Catherine McBride on the video of the class on your own time. It includes deep breathing, whole body large movements, stretching, standing and sitting postures, and some rest. Mental focus and breath control is encouraged. Participants can expect to get warm. Participants with heart, wrist, or spine sensitivity may have to modify the practice. Not recommended for pregnancy past 6 months or within 8 weeks of surgery.

"Fun With Doodle Art" workshop
AMS member and art educator Harriet Hodgsen created a video workshop for us about doodle art. This tutorial shows you some basic doodle art techniques and what supplies you need to get started with this fun, relaxing hobby. This is also a great activity to share with children.
